We were very ify about staying at a “motel”. I have no idea where motels got their stereotyping from. This place is just as nice as any “hotel” I have stayed at. A very very nice place to stay. They even had a little fire pit to sit around and meet new people. You should surely book and stay here. You won’t regret it. -Shelley H
On my way back to Florida, I stopped at the Carolina Motel for two nights. This was not my first time staying here and it sure won’t be my last. This property beckons you from the road; manicured landscaping, a horse-drawn covered wagon with American flag, colorful Adirondack chairs, a play area, a swimming pool, a fire pit, picnic areas and a tasteful blue and white painted building. This small motel is American owned and has only 19 rooms in an L shape. The best feature, in my opinion, is the pristine condition of the rooms; you can smell “clean” when you walk through the door. The larger rooms have small refrigerators and microwaves, all rooms have two beds and new flat screen TVs. The Wi Fi signal is strong and stable. An adequate Continental breakfast is provided. Manager Debbie Drake could have been a drill sergeant in her previous life! Not only is her staff professionally dressed, they maintain the property like professionals. If you’re looking for a quiet, clean and economical place to stay, the Carolina Motel is for you.
Perfect example of a retro mid-century Motor Hotel, but with with modernized, updated appliances and amenities – It took me an hour and a half to find it online, but I knew a hidden gem was there somewhere and I’m so glad I put in the time to find it. Our stay was perfect in every way! We found it affordable (we were able to stay 2 nights for less than what one night in an ordinary chain hotel in the area would have cost), neat as a pin, and were surprised by the unexpected amenities (such as a fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs and a very nice playground and pool area), and knowledgeable employees willing to take time to make recommendations for visiting the surrounding area. Overall, a perfect stay and we can’t wait to return!
Without doubt, the best independent motel we’ve ever used. Beautiful spacious rooms, well furnished with great beds and comfortable chairs. Super Bath and shower…everything well thought out and provided. Carolina Motel is clearly operated by people who care about the property and the guests. Highly recommended. We travel a lot and this is a very special place.
This hotel was great, clean inside and out and the staff was super nice and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was simple but good, cereal, muffins, bagels and french toast etc. They even had a fire pit going with chairs and rockers. Has all the comforts and for the price it cant be beat. I will return!
Hotel was nice and clean and room was ready before stated check-in time. We had a king size bed which was very comfortable and quite roomy. Plenty of places to eat in the Franklin area. We were very happy with our stay and experience at the Carolina Motel and we would not hesitate to return!
